Individual Membership Benefits (click here)
Any person who is employed as a dispensing optician and is in sympathy with the purposes and objectives of the Association shall be eligible for Individual Membership provided such person is not a proprietor, partner or officer of an optical dispensing firm or practice.
Honored Fellow Membership Benefits (click here)
An Honored Fellow Membership is the most recognized and respected individual membership category offered by the Association. Any person who is employed as a dispensing optician and is a member of a State Society, ABO Certified, or NCLE Certified and is in sympathy with the purposes and objectives of the Association shall be eligible for an Honored Fellow Membership provided such person is not a proprietor, partner or officer of an optical dispensing firm or practice. If you are a member of a state association that is a member of OAA, you are eligible for a Dual-Honored Fellow Membership at a discounted rate.
Firm Membership Benefits (click here)
Any retail optical dispensing firm, meaning those business enterprises that are actively engaged in the performance of optical dispensing services and the sale of ophthalmic products to the public at large and whose majority owners are not in active practice of optometry or ophthalmology.
Corporate Membership Benefits (click here)
Any supplier who is in sympathy with the purposes and objectives of the Association shall be eligible for Associate Membership. Firms that are both suppliers to the industry and retail optical firms shall be known as dual-operation firms. Such firms are eligible for Associate Membership provided they also maintain a Firm Membership for their retail optical operation. Associate Membership is optional for a dual-operations firm.
Guild Membership Benefits (click here)
A separate application is required for Guild Membership. Any OAA Firm Member in good standing may apply for affiliation with the "Guild of Prescription Opticians of America". The "Guild Member" must meet ALL requirements as set forth by the governing body of the Guild, the Guild Council. No optometrist or ophthalmologist may be the sole owner or only officer of a Guild Firm.
