Orlando, FL – Four students were recognized by Mike Elton, of HOYA Lens Corporation, as winners of the second annual HOYA Leadership Contest, held in association with the Vision of Hope Foundation. Students from opticianry were invited to submit eposters, in the form of PowerPoint presentations, on the topic of Leadership. The eposters were judged by an outside panel. Winning students received a $150 gift card and a trip to this year’s OAA Leadership Magic of Leadership Conference in Orlando Florida, where they were treated to dinner by HOYA and special recognition.
“It is always great to see support from our industry in helping to develop our future leaders,” said Yvonne Metten, Program Director for the J. Sargeant Reynolds Opticianry Program. “We’re really proud of all the students that won this year and hope to see more enter these types of contests in the future!”
